Martha Sue Miller

Martha Sue Miller, 74, of Elgin, Texas and formerly of Stamford, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Elgin, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Stamford with Dorman Holub officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockdale Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 until 6 p.m.

Sue was born August 3, 1935 in Stamford to George and Mary Bouldin. She was raised in the Rockdale Community and graduated high school in Paint Creek in 1953. She married Elmer “Rip” Miller June 1, 1953 in Stamford and lived there until 2005 when she moved to Elgin, Texas to be near her daughter. She worked for Kimble Wholesale groceries and the Stamford Independent School District as a study hall monitor, bus driver and secretary. Sue was a graduate of Hardin Simmons University with an Associate’s degree, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stamford.

Sue is survived by 1 son: Mark Miller and wife Lanice of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 1 daughter: Susan Smith and husband Kim of Elgin, Texas, 2 grandchildren, Luke Miller and wife Johanna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Autumn Londo and husband Matt of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
