Charles Cave Alderman, 61, of Jayton, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Kent County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel (807 S. Columbia) Stamford, Texas with Garth Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at the Clear Fork Cemetery in Lueders.
Charles Cave Alderman was born November 23, 1955 in Sweetwater, Texas to Ray and Mozelle Alderman.
Charles was raised in the Blackwell area and was a 1974 graduate of Blackwell High School. Charles worked on the family ranch in the Girard area for several years before moving back to Winters, Texas to work at the family business; Alderman Cave Milling Co. After several years of employment with Alderman Cave Milling he decided to return to his roots in Girard and the family ranch. Mr. Alderman worked as the deputy sheriff for Kent County, and was later elected as Sheriff of Kent County, retiring in 1996.
Charles married Kay McClendon July 8, 1996 in Jayton, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge and was an avid reader.
Survivors include 3 sons: Chuck Alderman of Stanton, Texas, Christopher Hoffman and David Hoffman and wife Jennifer all of Abilene. 4 daughters, Scarlett Davis and husband Jason of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jamie Jo Alderman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Brenda Collins and husband Steven of Lueders and Becky Allbright and husband Billy of Abilene, 1 brother, George Ray Alderman and wife Michelle of Girard, Texas and 1 sister, Sydney Underwood and husband Brennan of Abilene, 11 grandchildren, Charles Alderman III, Michael Alderman, Hunter Davis, Reba Davis, Alex Alderman, Noah Hoffman, Julie Hoffman, Brittany Hoffman, Justin Collins, Hayden Collins, and Landon Collins, and many other relatives and friends.
