Yolanda Vasquez Ortega

Yolanda Ortega, daughter of Jesse Vasquez and the late Flora Guzman Vasquez was born April 13, 1964, in Stamford, TX. She attended public schools in Stamford and was a 1982 graduate of Stamford High School. Yolanda was a catholic by faith and a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stamford, TX.

Yolanda’s working career of 31 years began at First National Bank, where she worked for 10 years before going into retail sales at Anthony’s for 5 years, she completed her working career with the State of Texas for 16 years at the WIK Outreach Services.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her mother Flora Vasquez.

She is survived by her father, Jesse Vasquez of Stamford, TX; her children Michael Ortega and Marty Villanueva both of Stamford, TX; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Danny Ramos of Anson, TX; 1 brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Valorie Vasquez of Raton, NM; 1 grandson, Michael Ortega, Jr. and numerous other relatives and friends.

Yolanda passed away September 1, 2023, at the age of 59 years in Abilene, TX.

Yolanda’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, with a Memorial Service at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Albert Devanesan. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
