Socorro Moreno Garcia

On Thursday, December 17, 2020, Socorro M. Garcia of Stamford, TX, passed from her life here on earth, taking her hard-working ethics, love for her family, and her strong will with her. She was 92 years old.

Socorro was born May 26, 1928, in Stamford, Texas to Theodor and Maria (Cedillo) Moreno. On May 22, 1972 Socorro and Hipolito Garcia were united in matrimony. Hipolito preceded her in death on May 18, 2003 after 31 years of marriage.

Socorro moved from Stamford in 1975 to Celina, Kansas where she was employed by Tony’s Pizza Company as a line inspector. After retiring she returned to her beloved hometown of Stamford in 1996. Socorro was a talented seamstress, good cook and enjoyed raising a garden. She had a deep love for her family and found pleasure in traveling.

Socorro was preceded in death by her parents, Theodor and Maria Moreno, husband Hipolito Garcia, brother, J.C. Moreno, brother Isadora Moreno, sister Juliana Vasquez, niece Mary Moreno and nephew, Jesse Don Moreno.

Survivors include nephew and wife, Eddie and Lupe Moreno of Lubbock, TX; nephew and wife, Joseph and Linda Moreno of Abilene, TX; nephew, Raymond Moreno of Round Rock, TX; nephew, Mario Moreno of Abilene, TX; nephew and wife; Lorenzo and Emily Moreno of Hawley, TX; nephew, Lupe Moreno of Jayton, TX; nephew Pete Moreno of Marfa, TX; nephew and wife Gilbert and Elizabeth Moreno of Moreno Valley, CA; niece Liz White of Hawley, TX; numerous great nieces, nephews, and friends.
