Sandra Lynn Clark

August 22, 1953 — April 15, 2022

Sandy Clark, 68, lovingly known as “Mom” and “Nana”, was called home to her Savior on Friday, April 15, 2022, taking with her the beautiful smile, quick wit, and sweet compassionate personality she shared with all who knew her.

Sandra Lynn Holt Clark was born August 22, 1953, in Arlington, VA to Norman and Evelyn (St. Martin) Holt. Sandy graduated from high school in 1972 and later attended McMurry University in Abilene, TX.

Sandy was united in marriage to Roger B. Clark on May 8, 1981, in Colorado Spring, CO. The Clarks moved to Stamford, TX in the same year, establishing Clark & Cobb, PC serving Stamford and the surrounding area for 36 years.

Sandy was a very intelligent lady who applied her brilliant mind to their business as well as being an accomplished musician playing clarinet, guitar, and drums. Before the internet was discovered Sandy and her brother would work the New York Times crossword puzzles as a joint venture, each completing what they could before placing it in the mail for the other to work the remainder. Sandy additionally supported the U.S. Military and often attended air shows to watch the Thunder Birds and the Blue Angels. Sandy was the “queen” of quick witty one-liners who also enjoyed dancing.

Family was assuredly an important part of Sandy’s life, from the impeccable loving relationship she shared with her daughter, Jayel, to caring for sons Eric and Jay. However, she obviously adored the grandkids, especially the grand girls for whom she could buy girly things. Generally speaking, Sandy’s cocker spaniels and bird were considered family as well. Sandy’s family fondly called her “Saint Francis of Assisi”, because of her love for all animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Evelyn, her husband, Roger in 2019, and brother, Pol William Holt.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Jayel and Danny Taylor of Clyde, TX; son, Eric Clark of Columbia; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Carolyn Clark of Weatherford, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Les Richardson of Glendale, AZ; sister Tracy Holt of Glendale, AZ; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

A special thank you to Chris Wolsch and Emilie Clark for their unending support and care given to Sandy.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel (807 Columbia) in Stamford, TX with Bill Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
