Samuel Watt Newcomb (Sambo, Sammy Watt) 80, Lueders, Texas, Passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home.

Sam was born in Albany, Texas on November 26, 1941, in Fort Griffin, TX to Jack and Callie Jones Newcomb.He is survived by one Brother George Newcomb, and several cousins.  He was preceded by his parents, his wife of 45 years and his sister Martha Newcomb Fanning.  He had no children.He married Peggy Nell Davis on April 17, 1969, in Grand Prairie, TX. Sam was a working man. He worked on many ranches, including the Morgan, the Lambshead, Hendricks, Nail, Green Caldwell, and many other large ranches.  He left that part of his life to make more money and became a heavy equipment operator.  When he retired, he was working for his dear friend Cody Roberts of Lueders.  His heart was Godly pure, and he suffered with his illness but had many family members that loved him. He loved deep sea fishing and just fishing the Brazos as often as possible. The family thanks Kindred Hospice and especially Lisa and Nora. Memorials can be given to the Lueders Cemetery Association, Lueders, TX 79533 or Kindred Hospice of Abilene at 4400 Buffalo Gap Rd. # 1200, Abilene, TX 79606.
