Robert Lee Lucas

Robert Lucas, 34, of Abilene was embraced in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 20, 2021, as the result of a tragic accident in Abilene, TX. Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Tankersley Funeral Home, 807 Columbia, Stamford, TX. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the House of God Church, 802 S. Ferguson, Stamford, TX with Pastor Paul Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

Robert Lee Acosta was born on May 2, 1987, in Stamford, TX to Sam Acosta and Rachel Guerrero. Robert attended school in Stamford until the 12 ^th grade, completing his education by earning a G.E.D. Robert had a passion for people and caring for them, making his career choice to be in healthcare. Robert became a CNA and worked for Stamford Residence and Rehabilitation in Stamford.

Robert married the love of his life, Jesse Lucas on May 26, 2020, in Abilene, TX.

Robert was a fun loving, adventurist with a spontaneous free-spirited personality who loved to laugh and make others laugh.  He loved people and being social as well as being a great storyteller. If he had a hobby, it would be driving fast cars!

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Sammy Acosta.

Survivors include, his husband, Jesse Lucas of Abilene, TX; his mother, Rachel Guerrero of Stamford, TX; sister Samantha Renee Guerrero of Abilene, TX; brother, Jeb Stuart Acosta of CA; brother, Jerrick Acosta of Abilene, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
