Randy Martin Phelps

Randy Martin Phelps was born September 21, 1970, in Haskell, TX.  He joined his Savior on October 9, 2021, at the age of 51.

A 1990 graduate of Stamford High School, Randy worked in food service all his adult life. He was most recently employed as the manager of the Haskell, TX Sonic Drive In. Randy lived in Haskell until health issues forced him to retire and move to The Oaks at Radford Hills Care Home in Abilene, TX to receive extended care for his illness.

Randy enjoyed family, friends, and loud rock music. You could always hear him coming in his beloved 2007 Ford Mustang. He also loved his pets. Randy was a kind a giving person, always ready to give a helping hand, especially to his “Pops”.

Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, whom he loved very much, Claude and Rosa Reynolds of Haskell, TX. Randy loved to listen to Grandpa Claude’s stories of old times, some of which were exaggerated just a little.

Randy is survived by his mother, Barbara Wardwell and husband Dwain “Pops” of Stamford, TX; sister Michele Phelps of Stamford, TX; sister, Tammy McLemore and husband Todd of Stamford, TX; brother, Barry Wardwell and wife Darcy of Snyder, TX; aunt, Cindy Ashley of Haskell, TX; four nephews, two nieces and numerous cousins, as well as a host of friends from around the area.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford, TX.
