Peggy Joyce Wash

Peggy Joyce Harvick Wash, born November 30 ^th , 1938 in Stamford, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Friday, March 17 ^th , 2023.  Graveside services for friends and family will be at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Ericksdahl community of Avoca, Texas on Saturday, March 25 ^th at 1:00 pm.  Arrangements are by Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford, Texas.    Daughter of Guy and Orabelle Harvick of Stamford, Peggy spent her life dedicated to family.  Peggy married Wayne Wash on November 2, 1957.  She was steadfastly at Wayne’s side during his football, golfing and management careers in Muleshoe, Friona, Ruidoso, Monahans, and Lubbock, at Hillcrest Country Club.   She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was a long-time member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lubbock.  Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Wayne and her parents.   Those left to cherish her memory include daughters Jamie Lyn Wash Becknal and husband Mike, Edie Kay Wash Fanning and husband Scott, Grandchildren Erin Becknal Ehler and husband Jody, Katie Becknal Dannheim and husband Lucas, Tyler Wayne Fanning and wife Laura, and Bonnie Fanning Wright and husband Greg.  Great Grandchildren who will inherit her legacy are Jadyn and Jack Dannheim, Jayce and Graham Ehler, Jay, Brock, and Dean Wright and Jackson Fanning.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Presbyterian Church, 4820 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407, or a charity of your choosing.
