Peggy Sue Tabor

February 26, 1933 — March 13, 2025

Peggy Tabor, a devoted wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the age of 92. She was a true embodiment of strength and resilience, a steadfast pillar of support for her military husband and a beacon of love for her children and community.

On February 26, 1933, Ernest and Ruby (Saffel) O’Neal welcomed a baby girl to their family named Peggy Sue. Peggy was one of six children born to the O’Neal family. Peggy received her formal education from Rule High School, graduating in 1951. On April 7, 1952, Peggy married her soul mate, Jack Tabor, in Lubbock, Texas, a union that would be blessed with five children: Vanessa, Karen, James, William and Carol. The Tabor Family’s life embarked on a military career as they followed Jack in his career with the Army.

As a military wife Peggy bravely navigated the challenges and joys of military life, always with grace and unwavering support. She moved with her husband Jack across the country, making new homes and forging lasting friendships wherever they went. She was a loving wife, mother, Maw Maw and/or Grandma and always had a warm smile and open door for new neighbors. Peggy was devoted to her home life, household activities, and family. She was exemplary in her skills as a cook, crafter, quilter, and making the stain glass windows for the Sagerton Methodist Church. She cherished free time to read, sing and care for animals. Following a 39-year military career, Jack and Peggy retired and returned to Sagerton, TX on November 30, 1993, to retire and enjoy life in the country.
