Millie Marie Long

May 22, 2023 — December 3, 2024

Millie Marie Long, a cherished daughter, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Millie was born on May 22, 2023 in Abilene, TX to parents Ely and Jenny (Dudensing) Long and welcomed by big brother Asa. Millie will be remembered by everyone and especially her parents as a joyful baby, who was always happy and a ray of sunshine in their lives.

Millie’s life was cut short, but the impression she left on the lives of everyone around her will last forever. She had a caring, nurturing personality for both people and animals. She loved to feed the lambs, dogs and cats even if all she had to feed them was a rock. She was also sure to promptly deliver shoes to whoever was getting ready to leave the house. Millie loved her family with endless hugs and kisses for everyone. She had a special place in her heart for her brother, Asa and in return he was a loving, sweet and kind brother even when she interfered with his imaginative plans for their toys. Millie and Asa loved singing together and often recreated their own church services at home. Millie’s answer to everything was nodding yes, regardless of the question. She found delight in the simplest tasks, and her joy made everyone’s loads lighter.

Her family takes comfort in Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Little Millie’s memories will forever be cherished by her parents, Ely and Jenny Long of Anson, TX; her brother, Asa Buck Long of Anson, TX; grandparents: Lynn Dale (Dude) & Renee (Honey) Dudensing of Sagerton, TX and Darrel (Papa) & Pamela (Grandma) Long of Anson, TX; and a host of other relatives.

The family will be accepting visitors at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 Columbia) Stamford, TX on Sunday afternoon December 8th from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Orient Street Church of Christ in Stamford with Rev. Jason Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Glory Cemetery, CR 137, Old Glory, TX under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
