Melissa Ann Cantu

Melissa Cantu, 56, departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 29, 2024. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, 807 Columbia, Stamford, TX with Pastor Paul Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

Melissa Ann Cantu was born in Stamford, TX on Sunday, June 9, 1968 along with her twin sister Patricia to Nick and Minnie Cantu. She was a lifetime resident of Stamford where she attended school.

Melissa’s life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was ready at the drop of a hat to participate in any activity that involved her family. She was the very best “Granny” to her three grandchildren. Melissa was a nurturing person caring for others through her sewing, cooking, and arts and crafts.

Melissa was preceded by her mother Herminia “Minnie” Cantu.

Melissa leaves to cherish her memories her father, Nick Cantu of Stamford, TX; her three children, Kristi Mezger and husband Matt of Stamford, TX, Kori Porter and husband James of Midland, TX, Elijah Calamaco of Stamford, TX; her brothers and sisters all Stamford, TX: Patricia Gonzales and husband Angel Garcia, Tammy Cantu, Chris Cantu and wife Stacy, Alex Cantu, Adrain Cantu and wife Heather; 3 grandchildren, Imajen Andrade, Marley Porter and Khyri Porter; numerous other relatives and friends.
