Lupe, Rangel, 81, of Stamford, TX passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Fort Worth, TX. Lupe was a quiet man with a gentle soul whose kindness and humble spirit touched all who knew him.
Lupe Casaz Rangel was born on January 29, 1945, in Stamford to Albino Rangel and Gregoria Casaz Rangel. Lupe received his formal education in the Stamford school system. On April 26, 1969, he was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Guerrero. Their loving union was blessed with three children: Amy, Eric and Mark. He was a devoted family man who valued hard work, faith, and time spent with loved ones. Lupe will be remembered for his calm nature, caring heart, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
Lupe was a homebody who enjoyed remodeling his home and working in the yard. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his favorite television shows, especially Dallas Cowboys football games. Lupe cherished family time and being surrounded by his family and treasured his role as “Papa” to his seven grandchildren. As a Christian, Lupe faithfully worshiped at Trinity Church. His faith was an important part of his life and guided him in the love and kindness he showed to others. Lupe was employed by Bronco Seed Co. He eventually became self-employed after establishing his own janitorial service. He took pride in his hard work and dedication to serving others.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albino and Gregoria Rangel, and two sisters, Soila Rangel and Martha Ruiz.
He leaves behind many cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved; his loving wife of 57 years, Bessie Rangel; daughter, Amy Rangel of Midland, TX; son, Mark Rangel and wife Stephanie of Tuscola, TX and their children: Gabriellah Rangel, Alexandriah Rangel and Lilah Rangel; son, Eric Rangel and wife Sandra of Azel, TX and their children: Monica Martinez, Lance Smith, Elias Rangel, and Victoria Rangel; three brothers: Frank Rangel and wife Rosa of Romeoville, IL, Louis Rangel and wife Aurora of Abilene, TX; and Victor Rangel of Stamford, TX; one sister Francine Kamman and husband Alvin of Stamford, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Tankersley funeral Home, 807 Columbia St. Stamford, TX. A service celebrating Lupe’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, at Trinity Church 220 E. McHarg St. with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating. Services are entrusted to the care of Tankersley Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers: Rickey White, Ryan Clayton, John Clayton, Alvin Kamman, Steve Gonzales, Jr., and Ben Littlejohn. The honorary pallbearers are German Burgueno, and Harold Ludecke.
