Trusting in God’s grace and mercy, Kathleen Guenther Teichelman entered into his presence on April 1, 2024. Born October 18, 1952, in New Braunfels, Texas, Kathy was the eldest of three daughters born to Harlan and Inez Guenther. She graduated from New Braunfels Canyon High School and from Southwest Texas State University. In 1974 Kathy married Ronnie Dale Teichelman, who showered her with unconditional love daily for nearly thirty-six years.
God blessed Ronnie and Kathy with the birth of their two children Melanie Dawn and Ross Eric, both of whom as adults ministered to their parents during their health struggles. In 2012 the family was further blessed by the birth of grandson Preston Dale Hill.
As a child, Kathy’s dream was to become a teacher. Kathy taught at Lueders-Avoca and Rule for a combined total of thirty years. Seeing her students’ success whether it be in the classroom or out in the world gave her joy.
Kathy loved Sagerton Faith Lutheran Church and its members. She had the opportunity to serve Faith Lutheran as Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School and VBS teacher, children’s Christmas program director, scripture reader, and along with Ross, church lawn mowers.
Participating in Sagerton community activities gave Kathy pleasure. For several years she pulled the curtain at the Sagerton Hee Haw. The Sagerton Community Bell Choir held a special place in her heart as she and the other choir members shared a joyful noise with others.
Kathy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronnie; her parents Harlan and Inez Guenther; her father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Rachel Teichelman; and a niece Shayla Nichols.
Kathy is survived by her daughter Melanie Hill, her son Ross Teichelman, grandson, Preston Hill, sisters, Sandra Wetz (Dwight Muelker) and Lynda Watkins (Mike), sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllis and Raymond Nichols and Arlene and Steve Vitucci, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
No doubt, Kathy would want to thank each of you for the many prayers you said on her behalf. Knowing you were lifting her up to her Lord and Savior gave her the peace she needed during her journey. Faith over Fear!
