On Thursday, August 11, 2022, Judy Gilbreath got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 66 years old.
Born in Haskell, Texas on December 10, 1955, Judy Carol (Jewell) Gilbreath was the daughter of the late Donald Jewell and Carol (Dreychek) Jewell. Judy graduated from Odessa High School in 1974 and continued her education at Range Jr. College for two years.
Judy moved from Ranger, Texas to Stamford, Texas in 1989. She was united in marriage to William Gilbreath on July 5, 1991, in Lueders, Texas. Judy’s working career through the years included the Dairy Queen, Dixie Dog, and the Stamford V.I.P. where she was the kitchen foreman until her health began to fail.
Judy’s personality reflected a sweet spirit and smile for all as she cared for others. Judy excelled as a domestic person in her love for cooking, baking, and sewing. Judy enjoyed reading, especially her Bible and teaching Sunday school at Trinity Church. When watching TV, she preferred to watch games shows.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Frank Kunik, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, William Gilbreath of Stamford, Texas; stepdaughter, Shalon Gilbreath; stepson, Zach Young; 1 sister, Kirstin Machaud; 4 brothers, Paul Kunik, Mike Kunik, Chris Kunik and Dale Hill; 7 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022, from 2 – 4 pm at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 Columbia) Stamford, TX. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 15, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Church (220 E. McHarg) with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
