Jose Esteban Longoria

Jose Esteban Longoria was born September 1, 1932 in Karnes City, TX to Genaro and Leonarda Gonzales Longoria. On May 11, 2020, surrounded by family at his home in Stamford, TX, Jose , a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend returned to his heavenly home.

Jose married Miss Argentina Lopez on October 6, 1957. Jose has been a resident of Stamford, TX since 1960 when he moved from Beeville, TX. He was employed by Bronco Seed Company, Farmers Coop Gin, and Crider Concrete Co. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Jose cherished spending time outdoors with his family and gardening. He was a sports fan who followed the Dallas Cowboys football games and boxing. Jose loved to dance and even learned how to do the twist!

Come and go visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 Columbia). Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. for immediate family. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020 with Father Chako Thadathil officiating at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Coronavirus social distancing rules in effect under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Harold Longoria in 2015, 1 brother, Ruben Longoria, 3 sisters, Olivia Gonzales, Idalia Andrade and Hortencia Dominguez.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Argentina Longoria of the home; his children, Hector Longoria (Arlene) of Georgetown, TX, Mary Brown (Ronald), and Herman Longoria all of Stamford, TX; 1 brother Robert Longoria of Beeville, TX; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
