November 19, 1933 – June 7, 2022
Johnny William (J.W.) Helton, age 88, peacefully left this earth to join his heavenly father on June 7, 2022, in Rockwall, Texas.
J.W. was born on November 19, 1933, to William Lloyd and Mary Agnes Helton in Coleman, County, Texas. J.W. married the love of his love of his life, Glenda Whitworth, on July 25, 1954, in Monahans, Texas. They raised their two beautiful daughters, Terry Len and Kimberli Kay, in Odessa, Texas.
J.W. worked and retired from Shell Company after approximately 33 years of dedicated service. He and his wife retired and moved from Odessa to Pittsburg, Texas where he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He loved to take his grandchildren out on the boat and riding on the lawnmower. J.W. was a deacon for his church for most of his life and taught a Sunday school class at a local nursing home for many years. To know J.W. was to love J.W. He made an impact on every life he touched, whether it was saying “hidy” to a neighbor, friend, or family member to an “up, up, buttercup” that his daughters so fondly remember. “I’m a tellin’ya” that we cannot wait to see him again in Heaven one day. He truly was the best man we’ve ever known, and we can’t wait to share a milkshake with him again in Heaven.
J.W. was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Junior Helton.
J.W. is survived by his wife, Glenda Helton of Rockwall, Texas; his daughter, Terry Len Stout and husband Larry of Kimberly, TX; his daughter Kimberli Kay Gaither and husband Fred of Panama City, FL; his grandchildren, Devaine Bailey and husband Christopher, Kristi Bazaldua and husband Michael, Jacie Stour, Jordan Palmer, March Gaither, Miles Gaither, Grayson Gaither, and Graham Gaither; his great-grandchildren, Landon Bazaldua, Hayden Bazaldua, Keegan Bailey, and Kaylen Bailey; brother, Lucian Helton of Hugo, OK; sister, Bobbie Dell Kirby of Coleman, TX.
