Joe Bailey Burnham

Joe Bailey Burnham was born July 23, 1929 in Freestone County Texas to John Franklin Burnham and Molly (Pope) Burnham. He passed to his eternal home on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the age of 89. Visitation was held at Tankersley Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2018, 5-6 p.m. Funeral Services were Saturday, September 8 ^th at 3:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse Morton officiating. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

Joe attended school in the New Hope. He spent his 33-year working career employed as a ground man for West Texas Utilities. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Stamford.

Joe was married to Rose Ellene (Gregory) Burnham who passed away May 30, 1966, he later married Alma (Buerger) Burnham she preceded him in death on January 21, 1989. Joe and Shirley (Baker) Burnham were united in marriage on June 23, 1990 in Stamford, TX.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, Rose Ellene and Alma, 1 step son, Robert Polk, 1 brother Frank Burnham and 5 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shirley, of the home; step children; Judy York of San Antonio, TX, Brenda Sessium of San Antonio, TX, James Polk of Florida, Mike Polk of Avoca, TX, Herman Polk of Albany, TX, Patsy Lampe of Abilene, TX, Ronny Bridges of Hamlin, TX and Tonya Foster of Stamford, TX; 21 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
