Joan Elizabeth Taylor Prince, 94, of Azle, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her home in Azle. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Jones County with Rev. Jesse Morton officiating and under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.

Joan was born September 1, 1924 in Stamford, Texas to Chet and Garnett Breland Taylor. She was raised in Stamford and graduated Stamford High School in 1942. She married Wilson L. Prince on December 5, 1953. Wilson passed away after fifty years of marriage. To the union three children were raised, Don (deceased), Barbara and Joe. Joan lived in Fort Worth for over forty six years. Joan was a life long domestic engineer. An extensive worker for the American Red Cross for injured soldiers during world war two, a member of the First Christian Church, and a devoted member of Code Blue. Hobbies included collecting chickens, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her two children Joe and Cathy Prince of Flower Mound and Barbara Hinsey of Azle, seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
