Jane Scott, 91, was called home to our Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
Born August 27, 1931, to Bob Baker and Gladys (Lewis) Baker in Nugent (Jones County) Texas, Jane was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She married Buford B. Scott on November 5, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas and raised three beautiful daughters together until Buford preceded her in death on August 9, 1998. She was a totally dedicated wife, mother and Meme to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in all aspects of their lives, especially sporting events.
She was a 1948 graduate of Lueders High School where she remained active with the homecoming committees and events. She was an active member of the Lueders Methodist Church prior to its closing. Jane lived in Lueders until 16 years ago, relocating to Anson, TX where she was very active in delivering Meals on Wheels at 90 years old. She was an active volunteer at the gift shop in the Anson General Hospital. Jane worked in sales at Luskey’s in Abilene, TX for 20 plus years.
Jane will be lovingly remembered by her family for her beautiful award-winning crochet, playing games (and she always won!), cheering on the Dallas Mavericks and her endless supply of Tupperware and Stanley products.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, son-in-law, Dee Wilson, and a sister Virginia Ann Doss.
Those celebrating the memories of Jane’s life are: daughter, Judy Wilson Spiller of Anson, Texas; daughter, Sara Scott of Stamford, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Terry White of Anson, Texas; granddaughter and husband, Wendi and Thomas Parks, granddaughter and husband, Mandi and Todd Strand, grandson and wife, Jerrod and Robyn Scott, granddaughter and husband, Summer and Bryce Roda, and granddaughter, Teryn White; great grandchildren: Kellen Parks, Kelbi Parks, Matti Strand, Lexi, Will & Tate Scott, Brycen and Hagen Roda; cousins, Lynn and Gina Roberts, and Steve Roberts.
Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2022, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Anson, Texas. Jane’s life will be celebrated with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roy McEwen officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
Jane’s family extends a special “Thank You” to Dr. Kapu, nurse Anna, Jalyssa and all staff at Anson General Hospital for your loving care to Jane and her family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Anson Meals on Wheels, 1225 Ave J, Anson, TX 79501.
