Geraldine Denson spent many of her 94 years on earth as a beloved wife, mother, and grandma before departing on Monday, December 12, 2022, to reunite in Heaven with her Savior Jesus, and her beloved husband Guy.
A Celebration of Geraldine’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jesse Morton officiating. The family will be receiving family and friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 a.m. till 11a.m. on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home 807 Columbia Stamford, TX.
Geraldine was born in Anson, Texas on February 5, 1928. She was one of four children born to Hardin and Golda (Kile) Simpson. She was a 1946 graduate of Stamford High School.
Geraldine Simpson married the love of her life, Mr. Guy Denson on August 18, 1950, in Stamford, TX. A union that was blessed with twin sons: Ronny and Randy.
Mrs. Denson was employed as a telephone operator in Stamford for 35 years. She then began a career that was near and dear to her servant’s heart, caring for the elderly. Geraldine loved to be outdoors soaking up the sun while caring for her garden and yard. When she wasn’t gardening or caring for others, you could find her shopping, traveling, or dancing. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed sharing her talent with her family. Geraldine was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the Old Timer’s Association.
Geraldine is survived by two sons, Ronny Denson and wife Teresa and Randy Denson and wife Mary all of Stamford, TX; two granddaughters, Allison Young and husband Mark and Sabrina Muehlstein and husband Jim; three grandsons, Landon Denson, Kelley Burnett and wife Dina and Gerald Burnett and wife Casey; six great grandchildren, Slayden Young, Kase Young, Baylee Young, Ethan Burnett, Cedar McIlwain and Cequin McIlwain; 2 great-great grandchildren Acie and Jasper McIlwain; one sister-in-law, Joann Denson; and three daughters by another mother, Peg Lindsey, Pat Crenshaw and Barbara DeBusk; and numerous relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Hardin and Golda Simpson, two brothers, L.H. Simpson and wife Blanche and Cotton Simpson and wife Reba, one sister Helen Mae Simpson and her fur baby Peewee.
