Annie Gayle (Davis) White was born January 14, 1944, in Haskell, TX to Marvin and Dorothy Juanita (Kemp) Davis. She went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the age of 80.

Gayle was reared in the Weinert community where she received her formal education in the Weinert Schools. Miss Gayle Davis was united in marriage to Mr. Jimmy White on July 29, 1960, at the Church of Christ in Weinert, TX. To this union three children were born Kyle, Kristi, and Kevin. Jimmy preceded Gayle in death on April 25, 2017.

Gayle was a well-rounded homemaker/farmer’s wife. She helped with the family farming operation alongside her husband, worked at Smith Drug Store in Munday, TX, prepared great southern meals all while raising three children, and sewing. Gayle was an extremely talented seamstress, sewing her children’s clothes, including making Kristi and Amy's wedding dresses, sewed several bridesmaid dresses and various other garments for numerous people. Gayle was excellent at upholstering furniture also. “Mama Gayle” was a friend, a storyteller, and a source of wisdom to her children and grandchildren whom she loved beyond all faults.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Dorothy Davis, her husband, Jimmy White, 1 sister, Louanna Warden, 1 brother-in-law, Don Bunton, 2 nephews, Chad Warden and Joe Bunton.

Left to cherish Gayle’s memories are her children, Kyle White and wife Loutina of Haskell, TX, Kristi Tankersley and husband Payton of Knox City, TX, Kevin White and wife Amy of Benjamin , TX; sister, Carolyn Griffin and husband J.B. of Abilene, TX, sister, Linda Bunton of Plains, TX, sister Peggy Hamon and husband Rodney of Voss, TX; brother-in-law, Chris Warden of Mathis, TX, sister-in-law, Sue Hackney and husband Jim of Fort Worth, TX; 6 grandchildren, Daniel Earle, Kaleb Whittle, Brylee White, Brogan White, Brody White and Jaxon White; 4 great grandchildren, Emmett Earle, Indie Earle, Rhett Cypert and Roan Cypert; a host of other relatives and friends.

Gayle White’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Wooden Nickel in Knox City, Texas.
