Evert Monroe Jordan was born August 14, 1935, in Jones County Texas to Everet and Mary Etheline (Clevenger) Jordan.
Monroe, age 85, passed to his eternal paradise on Monday, December 21, 2020. His life will be celebrated on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Graveside services at Clearfork Cemetery in Lueders, TX with Rev. Dennis Huffaker officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home (807 Columbia) Stamford, TX.
Monroe received his education at the Lueders School. He was employed by Jones County for 27 years before retiring in August of 1997. He began as a road maintenance man and worked up to his retiring position as foreman. On August 21, 1997, at his retirement party the precinct 3 commissioner dedicated the day as “Monroe Day”.
Monroe was a lifetime resident of Lueders and a member of the Baptist church. He loved being a grandpa to his grandchildren and spending time with them and family. Next to his grandchildren his love was fishing and hunting when time permitted.
Monroe was preceded in death by his parents, Everet and Mary, a daughter, Margaret Tabor, 2 brothers, Mike Jordan, and Jimmy Jordan, 1 sister, Etheline Gibbs.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Sue Mahan of Breckenridge, TX; son and wife, Frederick and Lucretia Jordan of Albany, TX; son and wife, Jerry and Donna Jordan of Cameron, TX; son and wife, Billy Jack and Angie Jordan of Lueders, TX; brother and wife, Carroll and Sandra Jordan of Fayetteville, AR; sister, Flossie Jordan of Norman, OK; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
