Ermelinda Guzman Canales

Ermelinda G. Canales of Stamford, TX passed from this life on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the age of 85. She will be laid to rest on Saturday, October 6, 2018 with Funeral Services at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. Rosary service will be 6 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel.

Ermelinda was born on June 15, 1933 in Weslaco, TX. She moved to Stamford, TX in the 1950’s and began her occupation as “homemaker” and added working for Teakwood Manor Nursing Home to her busy life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family time and cooking for her loved ones brought joy to her life as did tending to her flower garden and plants. Her devotion to her family and her firm Catholic faith supported her throughout her life.

Ermelinda is survived by her son William Luna and wife Nora of Stamford, TX; 5 brothers Alexandro Guzman and wife Amelia of San Antonio, TX, Ismael Guzman and wife Maria of Garland, TX, Raymond Guzman and wife Susie of Abilene, TX, Rudy Guzman and wife Margie and Clemente Guzman, Jr and wife Christina all of Ft. Worth, TX; sister Geneva Guzman of Mineral Wells, TX; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
