Elvira Mae Arther

Elvira Mae Arther was born 29 Nov 1934 to Thomas Nugent and Lilly Elizabeth Nelson Holder.  After the death of her birth mother she was adopted and raised by Adolf Gustof and Jonnie Mae Carlson Burkman.  She lived the last few years in their home in Lueders.

Vira Mae passed away in Longview, Tx, Thursday 27 Apr 2017.   She is survived by her sister Peggy Luciel Wilder; 2 daughters Joy Hasty and husband DeWayne of McAlester, OK and Sharron Sellers and husband Forrest of Harleton, TX;  4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  6 siblings, brothers Willie, Ernest and Chester Holder;  sisters Lilly ‘Puddin’ Jones, Lorene Hill, and Alice Sanders;  and 2 great grandsons Maurice Dee Sellers and Nathaniel Ray Fergason.

Her ashes will be buried with her adoptive parents in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Stamford, TX July 4, 2017 in a private ceremony.
