Delores Mae Lightfoot, 92, went home to her father’s arms on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Abilene, TX.
Dee was born August 26, 1933, in Davenport, IA. Her parents were Lewis Kistenmacher (deceased around age 30), and Hazel Birkenbine. Sometime after her father’s death, her mother remarried to Louis Coldren, and they moved to Odessa, TX, where Dee attended and graduated from Odessa High School. Dee went on to attend Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX, where she met and married Phillip B. Withrow. Phil and Dee later welcomed two daughters, Melinda Lou and Laura Dell.
After divorcing in 1968, Dee relocated to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to pursue a career with Summit Energy as a bookkeeper. She later became an incredibly successful real estate agent, known for her deep industry knowledge and impeccable market insight, which made her a trusted partner for clients at every level.
Dee married William F. Lightfoot in 1972, in Dallas, TX. He passed away after a short illness in 1979. One year later, she found her soulmate, William Irvin. They had 22 years of adventure together and traveled the world until his passing in 2022. They fully experienced cultures all over the world, including Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Canada, Honduras, Guatemala, Egypt, Italy, and Costa Rica. Dee’s favorite destination was Puerta Villarta, Mexico, where she spent a significant amount of time for over 20 years. She loved life, fun, family, music, and creating artistic jewelry. She truly lived life to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Louis Coldren of Midland, TX, and Lewis Kistenmacher of Davenport, IA. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Donna Stroup and brother-in-law William Stroup of Spring, TX.
She is survived by two daughters, Melinda Mueller and husband Jerry of Stamford, TX, and Laura Withrow of Spring, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Philip Beasley and wife Kelli of Abilene, TX, Brannde Flanary and husband Kevin of Pawhuska, OK, Sherry Walker and husband Will of Abilene, TX, Shanna Young and husband Bobby of Hawley, TX. Dee had eight great grandchildren. Grace Estrada of Abilene,TX. Electra Estrada of Stephenville, TX. Samuel, Luke, and Lexi Walker of Abilene, TX. Creed and Pacey Beasley of Abilene, TX. Jaxon Lenamon of San Angelo, TX.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Beehive Homes of Abilene for the compassionate care they provided during Dee’s four years of residency there. We know they truly loved her. We would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their care and guidance during Dee’s end of life journey.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 2pm, at Highland Cemetery in Stamford, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Texas Rehab in Abilene, TX.
