October 8, 2019 at Hendrick Hospice, Abilene Texas.

Born on November 14, 1954, in Stamford, Texas, Debra Jean Gardner was the third child of ten children born to the late Charlie Morris, Jr. and Eula L. Gardner. Debra lived most of her childhood and youth in Pomona California with her late maternal Grand Mother Lillie Mae Gardner, where she was reared and received her former education. Relocating to Stamford Texas as a teenager, Debra fellowshipped at the AME Church, then reunited with the Church of God in Christ.

Debra possessed a “Ms. Congeniality” personality, fostering a love for life and living it to the fullest. She was graced with exceptional artistic and athletic abilities, during her young adult years. She loved to play oft ball, listen to music, dance and have a good time. Known as Debra Gardner, the life of the party! Debra worked at Russell Newman for many years, then retired as a personal care giver.

Debra is preceded in death by both parents, four siblings: Beverly Joyce Ross, Billie Ray Ennis, Amy and Omecia Branch and her son Christopher O’Neal Gardner.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Lewis Love, Abilene Texas; two sons, Johnny Birdsong, Hurst Texas, Alvin L. Gardner, Abilene Texas; five siblings, Billie June Giddings, Dallas Texas; Sandra Kaye Fields, Grand Prairie Texas; Ray Gene Gardner, Wichita Falls Texas; Willie Faye Ennis, Midland Texas; Patty Gardner, Abilene Texas; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a special friend of the family Maria Castillo, and a host of family and friends to remember her time on earth.
