Curtis Charles Kilgore began his journey here on earth on June 25, 1953 and departed to his eternal home 69 years later on June 25, 2022. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel (807 Columbia, Stamford, TX) with Rev. Robert Johnson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery in Haskell, TX under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
Curtis was one of five children born to the late L. C. and Thelma Bennett Kilgore. Curtis was born in Haskell, TX, and graduated from Haskell High School in 1972. At the time of his death Curtis was living in Stamford, TX where he had resided for the past 12 years. Curtis worked as a handyman and for Pied Piper Mills in Hamlin, TX before its closure.
Spending quality time with family and friends was a number one priority to Curtis. He enjoyed playing dominoes and watching his favorite football team the Washington Redskins. Curtis was lovingly called “Stinker” by his family and friends. Curtis was a member of the Baptist church.
Curtis was preceded by in death by his parents, and a brother, Lawrence Charles Kilgore, Sr.
Survivors include his significant other, Linda McGee of Stamford, TX; a godson, Darius Spotwood of El Paso, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Ray Lee and Fay Kilgore of Ft. Worth, TX; a brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Belinda Kilgore of Haskell, TX; a sister Joyce Ann Kilgore of Haskell, TX; sister-in-law, Ethel Kilgore of Fort Worth, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
