Concha Vasquez Moreno, 73, of Stamford, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2021 while surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held at Tankersley Funeral Home on Monday, April 12 th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13 th at First Baptist Church, 214 N Swenson St. in Stamford, Texas. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Following the interment, a meal will be served at First Baptist Church and is open to all.
Connie was born in Spur, Texas on November 12, 1947 to Ramon and Concha Vasquez. She was a lifelong resident of Stamford, Texas. She was an awesome mother to her sons by taking care of their needs and wants throughout her life. She was a huge blessing to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by taking care of them and showering them with unconditional love, which also stands true for her sons as well. Connie cleaned homes, worked as a caregiver for those in need, and worked for Oliver Elementary and Pink Ladies Thrift Store. Through her work, Connie met and touched the lives of many people. She was blessed with the gift of hospitality and especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Connie took pride in taking care of her home and making sure it was always clean and welcoming. She would run circles around anyone and everyone by keeping up with her yard and plants. She also enjoyed watching and taking care of her cats Tinkerbell and Kiki and her dogs Jack, Buddy, and Baby. She expressed her creativity through arts and crafts, sewing, and embroidery. Connie was a member of Paint Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed worshipping and fellowshipping with her fellow brothers and sister in Christ.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Concha Vasquez; husband Bale Moreno; brothers, Raymond Vasquez Jr. and Grady Vasquez; sisters, Carmen Moreno, Becky Bates, and Kathy De La Rosa.
Connie is survived by her sons, Arthur Hernandez of Stamford, Texas; Gabriel Hernandez and wife Sally, of Stamford, Texas; 3 sisters, Rosa Valdez and husband Joe, of Wichita Falls, Texas; Rachel Ibarra and husband Candelario , of Mansfield, Texas, and Adelina Ramos and husband Sylvester, of Hutto, Texas; 4 brothers: Mike Vasquez and wife Tilda, of Chinle, Arizona; Joe Vasquez and wife Desba, of Tuba City, Arizona; Jesse Vasquez and wife Mary, of Bedford, Texas; and Jacob Vasquez and wife Olga, of Mansfield, Texas; grandchildren Gabrielle and Antonio De La Rosa, of Wichita Falls, Texas; Jacob Hernandez, of Stamford, Texas; Marissa Rodriquez, of Anson, Texas; Eli Frierson of Stamford, Texas; great grandchildren, Catalina and Nataly De La Rosa of Wichita Falls, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
