Clyde "C.T." Thomas Stovall

October 15, 1937 — March 8, 2023

Clyde Thomas (C. T.) Stovall, age 85, of Stamford, TX passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Abilene, TX.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Central Presbyterian Church in Stamford with Dr. Kelly Pigott officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Masonic Cemetery in Seymour, TX under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford, TX. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall prior to the service. C.T. was born in Waco, TX to Wilburn Thomas (Buck) and Martha Alma Keitt Stovall on October 15, 1937. C. T. lived in Hubbard, TX as a young boy, later moving to Seymour, TX where he graduated from Seymour High School. C. T. continued his education at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX where he graduated with a BBA in May of 1960. He was employed by the United States Postal System for 7 ½ years as a carrier, after retirement he worked at the Stamford ISD as a teachers aid and bus driver.

C.T. married his high school sweetheart, Carolene Ann Hash on July 24, 1960, in Seymour, TX.    C. T. and Carolene lived in Stamford their entire married life where they established deep roots in the community and a loving Christian home for 63 years. Through this union of marriage, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter Crystal Amanda Stovall.

C.T. was a walking encyclopedia when it came to sports. To say he was a fan was almost an understatement especially when it came to football. He might not remember his own birthday, but could tell you who and when a special game was played and even the score. C. T. was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Stamford where he served on the Building and Grounds Committee for many years. C. T. and Carolene spent endless hours volunteering at the Stamford VIP delivering meals on wheels.

He was preceded in death by his parents W. T. and Martha Stovall, and grandparents Clyde and Martha Keitt.

Memories of C. T. will live on through his loving wife, Carolene Stovall of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Cary Stenholm of Avoca, TX; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jacob and Haileigh Muehlstein of Ralls, TX; grandson, Jared Muehlstein of Stamford, TX; other relatives, friends, and a special thank you to Brenda “Bren” Griggs for her loving care and friendship.
