Betty Malone,78, devoted mother, loving mema, and friend to many followed her Lord and Savior home on Monday, September 5, 2022.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Stamford with Rev. Dan Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Rule Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the Tankersley Funeral Home at 807 S. Columbia in Stamford on Thursday from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m.
Born on March 26, 1944, in Old Glory, TX to William Hunt and Vivian Barbee Hunt, Betty was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. Betty was reared in the Old Glory and Rule area where she attended school. She was a 1994 graduate of LVN school working in long term care from 1995 to 2009. Betty valued her Christian faith and was a member of the Calvary Baptish Church. She was totally dedicated to her children and grandchildren in all aspects of their lives. The highlight of her week was cooking and gathering her family at her home for Friday night family night. Betty treasured the opportunity to read a good book.
Betty was married to John Wiley Malone, Sr., for 25 years, this union was blessed with four children: Janene, Johna, Rhonda and John, Jr.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Mary Lou Messenger.
Betty’s life and memories will be cherished by her 4 children, Janene Powell and husband Kenny of Stamford, TX, Johna Messenger and husband Randy of Haskell, TX, Rhonda Miller and husband Rex of Wiley, CO., and John Malone Jr. of Stamford, TX; 9 grandchildren; Sharee Painschab and husband Jeremy, Miranda Powell, Krista Powell, David Powell, Olivia Brown and husband Chris, Heather Shivers and husband Blaine, Blake Miller and wife Andrea, Troy Miller and wife Adilene, Haleigh Newby and husband Brandon; 18 great grandchildren; Hannah Wilson, Bryson Wilson, Madison Hallford, Lexi Hallford, Kaleb Hallford, Jonathan Brown, Nathaniel Brown, Zoey Shivers, Jaiden Painschab, Jaxen Painschab, Sariah Painschab, Emma Wallace, Blair Miller, Landon Miller, Achilles Miller, Kylin Newby, John Newby, and James Newby; brother Bud Hunt of Haskell, TX; sister Judy Andrews of Haskell, TX; sister Rutha Davis of Abilene, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
