Betsy Segura Ybarra

Betsy S. Ybarra, age 83, passed peacefully away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 with her sister Dolores by her side. Betsy was born June 14, 1937, in Stamford, TX, to Anacleto and Dolores (Ubires) Segura. Betsy attended school in Stamford.

Betsy married Jessie Ybarra on September 2, 1957 in Greeley, CO, where she made her home until returning to Stamford, TX in 1980. Betsy worked as a private sitter for shut-ins and as a cook at the nursing home in Stamford.

Betsy loved listening to music and dancing. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and being “grandma” to her grandchildren. She was loved by her family and her in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jessie Ybarra, daughter, Connie Ybarra, her parents, Anaceleto and Dolores Segura, brother, Felipe Segura and brother, Frank Segura, and a sister-in-law Sandra Segura.

Survivors include, her son, Bobby Ybarra of Greely, CO; daughter, Cecilia Lopez of Greeley, CO; son-in-law, Fred Lopez of Greeley, CO; brother, Joe Segura of Pearsall, TX; sister, Thomasa Segura of Stamford, TX; brother, Larry Segura of Baird, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Junior Delgado of Stamford, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Cleto and Irene Segura of San Angelo, TX; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Betsy had selected cremation with no other services planned at this time.
