Berniece Margaret Teichelman Lunn, age 94, passed to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Berniece M. Lunn was born January 23, 1925, at Bunker Hill Community, to C.F. Teichelman and Nellie (Rinn) Teichelman. Berniece was a lifelong resident of the Stamford area and received her education at Bunker Hill through the 11 th grade and completed her high school education at Stamford High School in 1944.
Following graduation, Berniece became a bookkeeper for West Texas Utilities, the Stamford Cotton Oil Company, and a local “Buick” car dealership. Berniece married Carl Lunn in March 1948, in Sagerton, Texas, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and began a partnership in the farming industry. The family grew when their four nieces from New York came to stay in the summer of 1960. Together, she and Carl filled their country home with loving kindness for their new family. In addition, Berniece could be found working in her multitude of flower gardens, nourishing the growth of the beautiful flowers and plants.
Berniece was involved in a multitude of community activities, including Sons of Hermann Lodge at Old Glory, Meals on Wheels, Abilene Bowling League, Domino Girls, and a lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton, devoting her time and talents serving the needs of her church family. Berniece was actively involved in the Stamford Garden Club, not only as a member, but also a mentor to many others. Through the years, her talents and love of gardening were recognized as a recipient of a multitude of ribbons and awards.
She is survived by her daughters (nieces) Pat (Murphy) Tanner, of Oklahoma City; Carol (Murphy) McKee and husband, Tom, of Stamford; Kathleen (Murphy) Borden, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Marilyn (Murphy) Brasher and husband, Chris, of Sherman, TX; and Teresa Allison, and husband, Rex, of Tye, TX. Berniece is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Ginger Simmons, Collette Conner, Sean MacEntire, Cristy Lackey, Eleda Neshem, Molly Schubert, Sally Stafford, John McKee, Katie Fought, Zachary Miller, Josie Brasher, and Ashley Fisher; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Lunn, 7 brothers, Anton Teichelman, Jessie Teichelman, twin brothers Herter and Gilbert Teichelman, Clarence Teichelman, Eugene (Gene) Teichelman, and an infant brother.
