Armando G. Valadez

Armando G. “Mondo” Valadez, 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Stamford on October 2, 2018. He was born on February 24, 1948 in Del Rio, Texas to Santos Valadez and Dora Guerrera Valadez. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, October 4, 2018, 2 pm at the First Assembly of God Church (1502 N Ave E) in Haskell, Texas with Rev. Carl Amburn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home in Stamford, TX.

Armando married Vicki Baldowski on June 21, 2003 in Stamford, TX. He worked for Strain & Sons Construction Co. and for the Stamford School before he retired. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity shown to friends and family. His favorite hobby was wood working and building things, he also enjoyed sharing his culinary skills cooking for his family. He especially loved being outdoors working in his yard and occasionally slipping in a fishing trip.

Armando will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 15 years Vicki Valadez of the home; his mother Dora Mesa of Decatur, TX; children, Cynthia Valadez, Anna Valadez, Armando Valadez, Jr., Ruben Valadez all of Waco, TX, Shawn Sanders and wife Kathy, April Escobedo and husband Keith all of Abilene, TX; sisters Dora Burrola of Del Rio, TX, Mary Jane Garcia of Silverton, TX, Patricia Escobedo of Run Away Bay, TX, Mary Lou Reyes of Stamford, TX; brother Santo Valadez, Jr. of Abilene, TX; mother in law Maggie Baldowski of Stamford, TX;                             29 grandchildren; great nephew Braxton “Little Bear” Reyes and his K9 companion Sissy. He was preceded in death by his father, son Joe Valadez, brother David Valadez and sister Bertha Reyes and a host of friends and other relatives.
