Ann Hansen Stevenson was born April 14, 1945, in Stamford, TX to Johnny and Fern (Young) Hansen. She went home to her lord and savior on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 11 days.
Ann received her formal education at the Stamford schools where she graduated in 1963. She continued her education at Texas Tech University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1967. Ann taught in the Arlington school system for several years.
Ann was united in marriage to Randy Stevenson on December 23, 1967, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ericksdahl.
Mrs. Stevenson was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington, TX. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved my many. Her kindness and sweet spirit were as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well in her garden and greenhouse; her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Ann was an accomplished cook and gracious hostess, along with her husband, Randy and they loved to welcome family and friends into their home. Ann was especially proud of the “two little” people in her life named Nicole and David who referred to her as “Sugar”.
Ann was preceded in death by her father Johnny Hansen, stepdad David Ballard, father-in-law Cos Stevenson, and mother-in-law Vera Stevenson.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband of almost 54 years, Randy Stevenson of Arlington, TX; son Matt Stevenson of Arlington, TX; her mother, Fern Ballard of Stamford, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Blake and Frances Hansen of Lubbock, TX; granddaughter, Nicole Stevenson and grandson, David Stevenson both of Arlington, TX; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Strait officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home in Stamford, TX.
