Jennie Lee Lyckman

Jennie Lee Lyckman, 77, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, November 09, 2010 at her residence after as lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Stamford with Rev. Teresa Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Jennie was born June 9, 1933 in Jones County to Elmer and Bertha Daniel. She was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated Stamford High School in 1951. She married Eugene Lyckman in 1951 and was working for the Stamford American Newspaper while in high school and a few years afterwards. She then went to work for the Stamford Independent School District and Tax office for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. Jennie was above all else a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed arts, crafts, and painting. She was a member of the Haskell Art Club, collected angels, and was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Lyckman of Stamford, 2 sons, Lewis Lyckman and wife Beth of Fritch, TX, and Dennis Lyckman of Stamford, 1 daughter, Eugenia Tipton and husband Roger of Amarillo, 4 grandchildren, Shanna Fuentes, Captain Lewayne Lyckman, Lee Ann Brasher and Madeline Lyckman, 2 great grand children, Madison Brasher and Mataya JennieLu Fuentes.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Teddy Daniel.
