Andrea Macias Kittley, 81, of Stamford and formerly of Sagerton, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton with Rev. Stephania Gilkey officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Andrea was born November 12, 1928 in Stonewall County near Old Glory to Juan and Amada Macias. She was raised in the Old Glory – Sagerton area and was a lifetime resident. She married W.W. “Sully” Kittley in 1950 in Lovington, New Mexico. They farmed in the Sagerton area. Sully passed away in 1965 and Andrea continued the farming operations until 1974 when she rented out the farm and went to work at the Russell Newman Manufacturing Co. Andrea worked for them for 12 years until her retirement in 1986. Andrea continued to live on the farm until 2008 when she moved to Stamford. She was a member of the Sagerton Methodist Church.
Surviving Andrea are 3 daughters, Susie Black and husband David of Abilene, Betty Garcia and husband Pete of Abilene, Martha Costello of Pioneer, LA, 2 sons, Michael Kittley of Midland, and James Kittley and wife Dorothy of Sweetwater, 3 sisters, Connie Crispen and husband Joe of Corona, CA, Mary Enriquez of Haskell, and Josephine Sainz of Eagle Pass, 1 special niece, Minnie Cantu of Stamford, 24 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, 1 son-in-law, Joey Costello, 1 daughter-in-law, Elma Kittley, 2 sisters, Benita Barrientos and Martina Salinas, 1 brother, Cato Macias, and her special friend, Pete Lopez.
