Mary Louise Thorn

Mary Louise Thorn, 82, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jessie Morton officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery.

Mary Louise was born February 25, 1928 in Stamford to Joe and Ruth Ferguson. She was a lifetime resident of the area, where she attended school. She married A. J. Thorn September 1, 1945 in Haskell. She worked at the Stamford School Cafeteria, the Stamford Memorial Hospital cafeteria, and worked for 30 years

at the Stagecoach Inn. Mary Louise was a member of the 1 ^st
Baptist Church in Stamford and was a member of the Stamford Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Sue Morton and husband Steve and Ruthie Bailiff all of Stamford, 1 sister, Rebecca Battaglia and husband Ed of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, 2 brothers, Henry Dancer and Benny Dancer.
