Crysta Belle Davis

Chrysta Belle Davis, 91, of Stamford, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at a local care center. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Solomon Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Massey officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Friday, February 19, 2010 from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Chrysta Belle was born March 6, 1918 in Stamford, Texas to Mack and Annie McPherson. She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Stamford. On October 11, 1943 Chrysta married Johnny Davis in Stamford. She worked as a homemaker for many years and loved to sing.

Survivors include: one sister, Hannah J. Tisdell of Los Angeles, CA; a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends, including James Standifer and wife Glenda of Stamford, TX; one daughter Rita Gooden of Austin, TX .

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John H. Davis, her parents, and four sisters.
