M. C. "Jack" Buske

Melvin Clyde “Jack” Buske Stamford, Texas M. C. “Jack” Buske, 93, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Brigham officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home in Stamford.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Jack was born July 22, 1916 to Will and Nora McAda Buske in Jones County, Texas.  He was a lifetime resident of the area where he was a self employed farmer for over 50 years.  Jack was a Baptist and a member of the Sons of Hermann Lodge.  On December 24, 1940 Jack married Kathryn Bushell in Stamford, Texas. Survivors include 1 daughter, Sandra Rhea of Stamford, one son Jackie Buske and wife Kay of Tuxedo, 1 sister, Vada Shackelford of Spur, 4 granddaughters including Sharon Hess, husband Gaylan, and son Tanner Rhea of Stamford, Becky Slapak, husband Ryan, and children, Hannah and Zack Slapak of Abilene, Kathy Dick, husband Ronald, and son Josh Buske, of Lawn, and Kelly Ables, husband James, and son Brody of Stamford. Preceding Jack in death were his parents, 3 sisters, Clara Goodwin, Nita Donahue, and Ava Corder, 3 brothers, Travis Buske, Buddy Buske, and Billy Buske.
