Loretta M. Connally, 74, of Stamford, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton with Rev. Keith Palmquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Sagerton Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home in Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.
Loretta was born October 15, 1935 in Stamford to Oscar and Alma Neinast. She was raised on the family farm 1 mile north of Sagerton and was a lifetime resident of the Sagerton-Stamford area. She graduated Rule High School in 1953 as the salutatorian. She married Ted Connally in 1956 in Sagerton. She was a longtime employee of the First National Bank in Stamford where she retired in 1994 after 40 years. At the time of her retirement she was Vice President and Cashier. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton where she was the church organist, a member of the bell choir and served on the Church Council.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Connally of Stamford, 1 son, Dwaine Connally and wife Beth of San Antonio, 1 sister, Laverne Stanhope of Stamford, 3 nieces, Phyllis Faulkner and husband Richard of Marlow, Oklahoma, Carol Hemphill of Cornwall, New York, and Cathy Graham of Fort Worth, 1 nephew, Larry Cronk and wife Joan of Springtown, and 1 great nephew, Kevin Faulkner of Marlow, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Lillian Neinast, and Lorene Hemphill and 1 brother, Auda Vee Neinast.
