Willie Marie Tyler

Willie Marie Tyler, 71, of Anson and formerly of Stamford, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Bethsaida Baptist Church in Anson with Rev. Kenneth Decker officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home in Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 5 until 6 p.m.

Willie Marie was born June 19, 1938 in Anson to John and Ruthie Mae Craven. She was raised in the Anson-Stamford area and graduated high school at the Booker T. Washington school in Stamford. She married Roy Tyler and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of the Bethsaida Baptist Church.

She is survived by 1 son, Eric Pete Jones of Bismarck, North Dakota, 2 sisters, Annie Ruth Jackson and husband Otis of Bastrop, TX, and Doris Bryant of Houston, and 4 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 1 brother, Henry Fielder.
