Heaven gained a "True Soldier" on the evening of May 28, 2017, when Terry DeWayne Richardson was gently lifted home to begin his eternal resting. Terry was 43 years old at the time of his death.
Terry was born September 26, 1973 in Roswell, New Mexico to Charles Raye Young and JoAnn Autry. Terry was reared in Roswell, New Mexico and was an exceptional athlete. Excelling in baseball, he was often coached by his grandfather, Johnny. Terry spent most of his adult life in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he had many friends who dearly loved and cared for him. He relocated to Abilene, Texas for a short time to be with his mother, JoAnn during her final days. It was then, he met the very vivacious, Tina Alaniz and to this union their beautiful daughter, Kiana was born. Terry loved his family and those who were blessed with the opportunity to know him. As he was a very private man, he enjoyed watching movies, sports and laughing on the phone with his family and friends. Terry was truly blessed in his relationship and walk with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandmother, Ruby Goodwin and his loving Auntie Maria "Rita" Hart.
Survivors include: his daughter, Kiana Nicole Richardson of Bellingham, Washington, his grandfather, Johnny Goodwin of Stamford, Texas, two brothers, Billy Joe Richardson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Steven Raye Richardson of Stamford, Texas, two loving sisters, Jacqueline (Walter) Lott of Rockport, Texas and LaToshia (John) Ignont of Corpus Christi, Texas, three nieces Essence Janae Richardson and Breanna Simone Richardson of Hobbs, New Mexico and Kama-Shea Monet Richardson of Abilene, Texas, two nephews Johnny Raye Richardson of Hobbs, New Mexico and Devin Isaac Richardson of Waco, Texas, his beloved, Tina Alaniz of Bellingham, Washington, two special friends, Ramona Casas of Hobbs, New Mexico and Tanisha Anderson of Abilene, Texas along with a host of cousins, great niece, great nephews and loving friends. Also, life-long friends, Denise Wilson and Roberta Moya of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jessie Hooper officiating.
