Hubert Junior Gilbreath

Hubert Junior Gilbreath, 89, of Stamford, TX went to his eternal home on Monday, March 20, 2017. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Stamford with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery at Funston under the direction of Tankersley Funeral. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 22nd, 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 S. Columbia).
Hubert was born November 11, 1927 in Arlington, TX to W. H. Gilbreath and Hattie Shannon Gilbreath. The Gilbreath Family moved to the Lueders area when Hubert was a child.
Mr. Gilbreath served in the Army from 1952-1954. Following his tour in the service he returned to the Lueders/Berryhill communities. Hubert married Dorthie Combest Gilbreath on October 29, 1955 in Big Spring, TX. The Gilbreath’s were married for 48 years before Dorthie preceded him in death on July 19, 2004.
Hubert installed sheet rock for over 25 years before changing careers to farm for Robert Reves. He later returned to installing sheet rock for a few years before returning to farming for Kenneth Hansen until he retired in the mid 1990’s.

Survivors include: 1 son and daughter-in-law, William and Judy Gilbreath of Stamford; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Larry Dickson of Rotan;1 sister Burt Jones of Stamford, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
