Joanne Bell

Joanne Westbrook Bell was born in Stonewall County, Texas on April 29, 1935 to Elmer Garland Westbrook and Johnnie Mae Earnest Westbrook.
Joanne Bell, 81, of Stamford, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
She married Donald Eugene Bell on February 16, 1950 in Sagerton, Texas. They were blessed with four children; Donald Wayne, Elmer, Gary and Patricia.
Joanne worked as a nurse’s aide at Stamford Memorial Hospital and Skyview Living Center. She ran a home daycare for many years at her family home on Oliver Street in Stamford.
Joanne loved her family dearly and they were her pride and joy. She was a devoted Christian and loved to listen to Bill Gaither style old time religious music.
Survivors include her son, Gary Bell of Stamford, TX; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson.
Jo Anne celebrated 64 years of marriage with the love of her life Donald Eugene Bell before he preceded her in death in 2014; she was also preceded in death by three children Donald Wayne Bell in 1977, Elmer Bell in 1999 and Patricia Caldwell in 1999; great grandsons, Payton Vaughn in 2012 and David Burdick, Jr. February 28, 2017 and her parents.
The family will be receiving visitors at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 S. Columbia) from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 19th. Jo Anne will be remembered during funeral services on Monday, March 20th at 10 a.m. at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery east of Stamford.
