Helga Alvina Anderson

Helga Alvina Anderson, 91, of Stamford, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2009 in Stamford. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bethel Assembly Church in Anson with Pastor Cody Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Fork Cemetery in Lueders under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 until 7 p.m.

Helga was born April 17, 1918 at Holman, Texas to Willie Fritz and Annie Schafer Tredemeyer. She was one of ten children. She was Baptized at Trinity Hill Lutheran Church near La Grange, Texas. The Tredemeyer family moved to West Texas in 1921, settling southeast of Old Glory, Texas. Helga was 3 years old at the time. She attended school at Old Brandenburg which was later changed to Old Glory. She was confirmed on the 10th day of April, 1932 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sagerton, Texas by Pastor Carl Juergensen. On December 18, 1940 she married Paul (Jack) Anderson in Sagerton, Texas and moved to Lueders, Texas where she lived most all her life. Helga and Jack’s home and hearts were always open to everyone. They were there when their family members needed help, advice, a meal, or just someone to talk to.
Helga worked at the Old Glory school in the cafeteria and the Lueders-Avoca cafeteria where she retired in 1983. She was a member of Zion Lutheran until 1982 when she transferred her membership to Faith Lutheran in Stamford, Texas. Helga was a strong, Christian, lady, who instilled goodness and the love of God to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, one daughter, Helga Ann, her parents, Willie and Annie Tredemeyer, five brothers, Leon, Werner, August, W. F. (Buster), and Weldon Tredemeyer, three sisters, Alma Hertel, Lydia Lovvorn, and Emma Raphelt. Survivors include, two daughters, Jannelle Fulgham and husband Larry, Paula McLellan and husband Michael, one sister, Esther Kinman, four grandchildren, Lance Fulgham and wife Tiffany, Carey Sheppard and husband Kenny, Shane McLellan and wife Mandy, and Michelle McLellan, and 6 great grandchildren.
