Betty Elizabeth Walcott

Betty Elizabeth Walcott, age 59, of Stamford, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 22, 1957, in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Henry Jones and Bertha Gilbreath Jones.
Betty graduated from Lueders-Avoca High School with the class of 1975. She continued her education at Angelo State earning her B.S. degree in education. On April 4, 1980, she was united in marriage to Barry Walcott. She was employed by Lueders-Avoca High School where she taught English. Betty managed the Grand Theater in Stamford for 15 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, was an immaculate house keeper, homemaker and simply spending time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Bertha Gilbreath Jones, her husband, Barry Walcott of Stamford, Texas; 1 son, Cody Walcott and wife Kaysay of Stamford, Texas; 1 daughter, Beth Venegas and husband Dustin of Seattle, Washington; 3 sisters, Teresa Gann and husband Sidney of Checotah, Oklahoma, Judy Davis and husband Squeak of Lueders, Texas and Stephanie Faison and husband David of San Angelo, Texas; 3 brothers, Buck Jones and wife Connie of Lueders, Texas, Hank Jones of Lueders, Texas and David Jones and wife Ann of Abilene, Texas; 2 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father Henry Jones.
At Betty’s request, she was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
