Kathryn Jane Buske

Kathryn Jane Bushell was born July 3, 1923 in Stamford, TX and passed peacefully to her eternal home on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Anson Hospital at 1:45 a.m. Kathryn was one of eight children born to the late Ed Bushell and Era (Fauth) Bushell. She attended school in Stamford.
On December 24, 1940, Kathryn married Jack Buske in Stamford, TX, a union that lasted for 69 years, blessed with two children: Sandra and Jackie and was better known as “Gan” by her grandchildren. Jack and Kathryn lived in Tuxedo where they farmed until Jacks death in January of 2010. She was a member of the Tuxedo Baptist Church, Sons of Hermann Lodge and was an excellent cook and homemaker. Kathryn was 93 years old.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Sandra Rhea of Stamford, TX; her son Jackie Buske and wife Kay of Stamford, TX; Grandchildren: Kelly Buske of Stamford, TX, Kathy Dick and husband Ronald of Goldsboro, TX, Becky Slapak of Abilene, TX, Sharon Rhea and fiancé Bill Adkins of Stamford. Great Grandchildren: Tanner Rhea of Lubbock, TX, Hannah Slapak of Abilene, TX, Josh Buske of Goldsboro, TX Zach Slapak of Abilene, TX and Brody Buske of Stamford, TX; a great-great grandson is expected in May. One sister Betty Buntin of Waco, TX; a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack Buske, three sisters: Daisy Bushell, Doris Sanders, and Georgia Fare; three brothers: Richard Bushell, Harry Bushell and Sonny Bushell.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017 5-6:30 p.m. at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 S. Columbia). Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Tankersley Funeral Home with the Rev. John Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
