Donnie Wood Young

Donnie Young, 64, of Ranger and formerly of Stamford, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 in Abilene. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with William McCorkle officiating.
Donnie was born May 20, 1952 in Stamford to Lynn and Violet Young. He was raised in Stamford and attended school there. Donnie worked for D & D Tong Services in Stamford several years before entering retail sales. He was the manager of several stores including, Perry Brothers in Knox City, Michaels in Tucson, Arizona and Wichita Falls, and Winn’s in Elgin, TX and Bellmead, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Bobby W. Young.
He is survived by 2 sons, Donnie Young Jr. and Crystal Young and Davy Young and wife April all of Wichita Falls, TX, 3 brothers, Kenneth Young and wife Carla of Stamford, Charles Young and wife Suzanne of Waco and Craig Young and wife Becky of Abilene, 1 sister, Sharon Wesley of Ranger, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Hendrick Hospice Care at 1682 Hickory, Abilene, Texas 79601.
