William Eugene Baggett

August 17, 1941 — September 20, 2016

William Eugene Baggett was born in Many, Louisiana August 17, 1941. He was the only child born to William and Lucy Marshburn Baggett. He passed from this life at 2:00 a.m. on September 20, 2016. William’s wishes were to be cremated. He will be remembered during graveside services Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene with Rev. Les Mims officiating. Services are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
William was reared in Leesville, Louisiana where he completed high school in 1959. He served his country in the Army from June of 1959 until June of 1962. William worked in the transportation industry as a truck driver most of his life. He was a member of the East Leesville Baptist Church. Mr. Baggett moved to Stamford in 2011 to be near his daughters.
Left to cherish his memories are 4 daughters; Dottie Lopez and husband Joe of Avoca, TX, Carol Gorman of West Columbia, TX, Melissa Smith and husband Ricky of West Columbia, TX and Dawn Neatherlin and Shane Neatherlin of Avoca, TX. 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 2 sons, Charles Richard Clevenger and William Milton Baggett.
